Mackerel is a type of oily fish known for its unique dark tiger-like stripes on an iridescent blue-green back. This fish is notable for its rich omega-3 fatty acid content, which benefits heart health, brain health and eye health. Besides that, mackerel is also rich in vitamin B12, which is crucial in red blood cell formation.
Ingredients: mackerel fish, 150ml tamarind juice, 100ml coconut milk, 2 tomatoes, 1 onion, 1 garlic, curry leaves, 1 tablespoon fenugreek, curry powder, chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt. Method: 1. Clean the fish and chop them into medium pieces, then marinate them with chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt. 2. Pour oil into a wok, add fenugreek seeds and stir well for 1 minute. Then add chopped onions and garlic and continue stirring. 3. Add the chopped tomatoes, curry leaves, curry powder and chilli powder (if you want it to taste more spicier) and continue stirring to mix it well. 4. Then, add water, tamarind juice and mix it well. 5. Next, add the mackerel fish and bring it to a boil. 6. You can add milk if you want it to be creamier. I used coconut milk. When milk is added bring it to another boil. 7. Dish out and serve.
