MYSORE PAK (INDIAN SWEET)

Mysore Pak is a healthy Indian sweet made of ghee, gram flour (besan) & cardamom. Gram flour is a pulse flour made from chickpeas, rich in fibre, no gluten & high in protein.


Ingredients: 200g of gram (besan) flour (sieved), 50g sugar, 200g ghee, 100ml water & cardamom powder (for increased flavour).


Method:
  1. Melt the ghee in a pan and let it cool for a minute.
  2. Add besan flour & cardamom powder to a mixing bowl then pour the ghee and mix it well until there are no lumps.
  3. Pour water and sugar into a heavy bottom pan and heat in a low flame until the sugar dissolves. Then, add the besan flour ghee mixture little by little, stirring continuously till the mixture doesn’t stick to the pan.
  4. Pour the mixture into a square cake tray and cut it into rectangular shapes.
  5. Allow it to cool at room temperature before separating the cut pieces.
