Onion was one of the oldest cultivated crops and they were first cultivated around Central Asia about 7000 years ago. The health benefits of onion include supporting heart health, improving bone density, preventing cancer, acting as a prebiotic and enhancing gut health and it contains antimicrobial properties.
Ingredients: 300g small onions, 150g garlic, 2 tomatoes, 2 potatoes, curry leaves, 200ml tamarind juice, milk, fenugreek seeds, curry powder, water. Method: 1. Add oil to a large pot and fry the fenugreek seeds. Then, add the onions and garlic. 2. Stir for 5 minutes and add the chopped tomatoes and potatoes. 3. Next, add 40g of curry powder, salt and stir well. 4. Pour 500ml of water, stir well and bring the dish to a boil for 10 minutes. 5. Add the tamarind juice and curry leaves and boil for another 10 minutes. 6. Add milk and stir the dish well. Cook it for about 5 more minutes. 7. Dish out and serve.
