This is a simple and easy Roselle leaves chutney. This sour and tangy herb contains many health benefits, including regulating sugar and cholesterol levels, preventing cancer, anti-hypertensive effects and lots of antioxidants.
Ingredients: 200g Roselle leaves, cooking oil, 1 garlic, ½ red onion, mustard seeds, chilli powder, salt. Method: 1. Remove the roselle leaves from the stem and wash the leaves in water. 2. Add the washed leaves to a pot, then add water and bring it to a boil. 3. Strain the water and allow the roselle leaves to cool. Don’t throw the water away. Once cool, blend the roselle leaves in a blender and add some of the drained water. 4. Next, heat a pan and add oil and fry the mustard seeds for 1 minute. 5. After that, add the chopped onions, garlic, chilli powder and salt and cook for 3 minutes. 6. Finally, add the blended roselle leaves and mix everything and cook for another 5 minutes while stirring occasionally. 7. Dish out and serve.
