Red Bean is a plant species in the legume family. They are used in soup, porridge, paste, and part of a dish served with rice. Red bean is packed with various health benefits. It is high in dietary fibre, plant protein, iron, magnesium, potassium and vitamin B6. This bean can reduce blood pressure, sugar levels and cholesterol levels in the body. Besides that, it prevents cancer, protects your liver and heart, and supports weight management. This is a simple red bean porridge recipe you can try:
 
Ingredients – red beans, coconut milk, cashew and pandan leaves.
 
Method:
1. Wash and soak the beans for an hour.
2. Boil the beans with water until they turn soft or split open.
3. Then, add the pandan leaves and cashew.
4. Mix the coconut milk well once the cashew has turned soft.
5. Serve and enjoy.

P.S. The main ingredient is red beans, you can add the same ingredients to make this porridge or change it according to what you like. You could also add sugar if you like or change to a different type of milk.
